Many tourists who visit Busan avail of the scenic train ride that gives a great view of the rocky coast of the city. However, when the train passes near the Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory or skywalk, those tourists could just gawk in awe and regret at the same time that they could never get to the skywalk because the train has to keep moving.

Our group actually belonged to that type of tourists who looked at each other while the train kept chugging away from the view of the protruding platform.

But luckily, we had some extra hours on the day we were supposed to leave Busan and we made it a point visit the observatory in the morning of our egress.

How to get to Cheongsapo Skywalk

There is actually a boardwalk where one can reach the observatory from the Mipo Station of the Haeundae Blueline beach train. From there, it should take less than an hour of easy walking. However, a part of the boardwalk was under repair when we went there (April of 2023) and we were forced to hop on the train at the nearest stop. Yup, there are a few stops along the route and you can buy tickets from the ticket machines at those stations. After a short ride, we alighted at the stop near a coffeeshop for our breakfast then went towards the skywalk.

And yes, you can also choose not to take the long walk by taking a taxi or even buses to the Cheongsapo station, then your walking effort to the skywalk would be much shorter.

The Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory provides some refreshing option for tourists who have enough time to stay in Busan. It is also a good combination to other major attractions near it such as as the blue train line, the Haeundae beach and a good selection of quaint coffeeshops that dot this part of Busan.
