Hikr Ground in Seoul - A Must Visit Place for Kpop and Kdrama fans

If you're a Kpop or Kdrama fan visiting Seoul, then there's a place you absolutely have to visit – Hikr Ground. This unique tourist attraction is dedicated to all things Hallyu, and it's a must-see destination for any fan of Korean pop culture. With its vibrant atmosphere, exciting attractions, and stunning location, Hikr Ground is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the world of Kpop and Kdrama.

Actually, most tourists to Seoul miss out on this one since this recently opened and one would think that the building where this is located is just a typical modern concrete structure in the city. Surprise! It is located just beside the Cheongyyecheon Stream and only walking distance from Myeongdong and many other major tourist sites in the middle of Seoul.

While the exact address may vary depending on your mode of transportation, Hikr Ground is typically easily accessible by public transit. The nearest subway station is Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station (Lines 1, 3, and 5), which is approximately a 5-minute walk away. It is also easily accessible by subway line 2 (Euljiro il (1) ga) near the Seoul City Hall and Lotte Mall (about 7 minutes walk)

A hikr ground staff would be very happy to take your photos and videos as you try to dance like your idol.
Aside from this, there is a train, moon reflection, laundry and i think two more themes where you can be a “kpop idol”

Once you arrive at Hikr Ground, you'll find yourself in a vibrant, colorful space that's filled with Kpop and Kdrama memorabilia. The facility is divided into several different zones, each of which offers a unique experience related to Korean pop culture. For example, the Kpop Zone features interactive exhibits and performances by Kpop idols, while the Drama Zone showcases sets and props from popular Kdramas.

There are young personnel who are bubbly and enthusiastic talking with the guests (and yes, also in English). They even volunteer to take your photos and even videos as you try your darnest to have a few seconds of kpop “studio” experience.

Don’t be intimidated by the very high stairs leading to the second floor. Hikr Ground is located in a government building (the tourism office, actually) and they made the upper floors a part of their tourism campaign to add more activities for the visitors.

There is actually an elevator and escalators on the other end of this building.

Aside from the lively studio-like features (you can also control the lighting!), the site also features some sort of the history of kdrama and the Hallyu culture on the upper floor. But I think all the featured kdrama posters and displays are those that are shown in Netflix (I may be wrong, though).

Be ready to see the very tiny mini me’s of your favorite kpop idol figures. There are also other features, but I will not mention them so I won’t spoil your expectation.

The only caveat is that the place is quite small specially when most tourists become aware of it. You may have to wait a really long time for others to finish taking their photos and videos in the music video “studios” before you can use them.

The top floor is a coffee shop with a balcony. Don’t be surprised when you come in at lunch time or break time and you see the place filled to the brim. The locals really make it a point to have their coffee and donuts here. Be ready with your credit or debit card if you plan to have your coffee here. They don’t accept cash.

Overall, Hikr Ground is a must-visit destination for any Kpop or Kdrama fan visiting Seoul. Its lively atmosphere, exciting attractions, and prime location make it the perfect place to immerse yourself in Korean pop culture. Whether you're a dedicated fan or simply interested in learning more about this unique aspect of Korean society, Hikr Ground is sure to offer an unforgettable experience.
